Why tallow, and why grass-fed matters
Tallow is rendered beef suet — the clean fat from around the kidneys. People used it on their skin for centuries before petroleum jelly and industrial seed oils existed, because the fatty-acid profile of ruminant fat is unusually close to the sebum human skin makes on its own. Skin recognizes it and absorbs it, rather than letting it sit on the surface.
Because the product is essentially just rendered fat, the animal's diet ends up in the jar. Peer-reviewed research comparing grass-fed and grain-fed beef reports higher omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, and fat-soluble antioxidants in fat from forage-finished cattle — so we use 100% grass-fed and grass-finished suet, rendered low and slow by hand in Taylor, Texas, with no solvents, bleaching, or deodorizers.
From there the list stays short: whipped lotion is tallow and organic cold-pressed jojoba, nothing else. Deodorant adds organic coconut oil, arrowroot, and magnesium hydroxide — no aluminum. Lip balm is tallow, coconut oil, and pure beeswax. No synthetic fragrance in anything, ever. Every claim here is cited with links you can read yourself.
